All my Japanese friends loves this place. It's creative but in a Japanese way. I usually order their edamame tofu, it's the best I've ever had.

Don’t let some of the dishes, like the deep fried roll with salmon and cheese, put you off. Stick to the more traditional options and you will have an excellent meal. Fukurou is very popular with the Japanese crowds, as soon as you walk in you will be greeted as if you were in Tokyo. A little piece of Japan in the Greenwich Village.
