Via Guelfa 138/R, 50123 Florence, ItalyFirst time in Florence and I got this place recommend by a friend! It’s a family restaurant where the father runs the kitchen and the son and daughter runs the front! This is everything you could dream of and more. We actually went back 2 nights in a row. I can’t wait to go back and have their Bistecca Fiorentina and their own produced wines.
In chaotic Florence it can be hard to find a place that hasn’t sold it soul (at least a little bit) to tourism. Here you will find Italian flair and Italian recipes with a touch of elegant Italian inventiveness. The restaurant takes its name by the gate used to enter a land owned by the ancestors of the restaurant owners since the 1200s… The story is a little more complicated than this but you can rest assured you are in safe Tuscan hands here.
