RIJKS AMSTERDAM

Museumstraat 2, 1071 Amsterdam, Netherlands
Great dishes, great atmosphere. In the building of the Rijksmuseum but with a separate entrance. Restaurant managed to get a Michelin star within its first year. Adventurous and surprising non pretentious food.

Between a Rembrandt, a Vermeer and the latest museum’s exhibition you can take a break at one of the tables of the sleek room which hosts the Michelin starred restaurant. At the helm, chef Joris Bijdendijk who uses Danish heritage recipes and ingredients in a modern way. The spirits are Dutch, the ingredients are mainly Dutch or from former Dutch colonies, everything is tied together in order to keep a continuity with the museum experience, despite the restaurant being in a separate building. A great experience for any occasion.
