CAFE PUSHKIN MOSCOW

Tverskoy Boulevard 26А, Moscow 125009, Russia
My favourite dinner in Moscow... the venue, Baroque mansion a la russe, has a theatrical layout and vibe ....you don’t quite know how authentic are furnitures, stuccos and frescos but the atmosphere is truly captivating. Nicest spot is the first floor “The Library”. Great lighting. Loved the revisited French cuisine too.

The name and creation of the restaurant were inspired by Gilbert Bécaud’s song Natalie, whose lyrics mention a Café Pushkin which at the time did not exist, it was just a literary invention. Owner Andrei Dellos knew that song and loved the lyrics and that is what made him create the restaurant. Today you can dine in the incredibly beautiful rooms of a former baroque residence, marvel at the decor (once upon a time the residence was converted into a pharmacy at the bottom floor and a library at the upper one), enjoy the French-Russian fare and daydream of a literary past.
