THE UBIQUITOUS CHIP GLASGOW

12 Ashton Ln, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G12 8SJ, United Kingdom
Still - since 1971 - the best meal to be had in Glasgow. Incredible Scottish seafood and game, served in a reassuringly unchanging environment. Great bar full of local literati, TV faces and local worthies, with no music and a signature draught pilsner, Furstenburg - apparently the only unpasteurized pint to be had in the UK.

When Ronnie Clydesdale opened the restaurant in 1971 Scottish food was to be had just at home. But he had a vision and he was right. Today his restaurant (s, there are two in the building) is still considered one of the best in Scotland. Head down for a pint, a meal at the brasserie or a the more “proper” restaurant.
