RULES LONDON

34-35 Maiden Ln, London WC2E 7LB, United Kingdom
The oldest restaurant in London. First opened its doors in 1798, and hasn't needed to change since. Timeless.

A real classic. In more than 200 years it has always been privately owned and it has changed hands only three times. At first it was the Rule family, during the first world war it was passed on to Thomas Bell, whose daughter sold it to John Mayhew, the current owner, in 1984. Needless to say history has been made here. Politicians, writers, actors, personalities… they all dined and wined between these walls. Today the charm is still apparent, best enjoyed on a cold rainy day.
